Money
- Only cash in your possession when you were
booked in or money orders is placed into your commissary account for
use in purchasing food and hygiene commissary items. Personal checks,
payroll checks, etc. are put with your property and cannot be used for
commissary or posting of bond.
- Money orders are accepted at any time. Money
orders can be sent to you in the mail, but cash should not be sent in
the mail.
- When money orders are received for you, the
commissary officer credits your commissary account.
- You may release money to the court for bond.
The Jail Administrator MUST approve any other release of funds. This
request must be submitted on a Jail Request Form. You can release
money only between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M.
to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday (except legal holidays).
- You cannot transfer money to another
prisoner.
- Upon release you will be required to fill out
a form and indicate if you will pick up a check for your fund balance
or if you wish the check to be mailed to you. If you want the check
mailed, you must print your name and address on the form. If you have
the check mailed to you, the amount of a stamped envelope will be
deducted from your funds prior to issuing the mailing the check. If
you elect to pick it up, you may do so Monday through Friday between 8:00
A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
- Upon release, if your account has a negative
balance, the reimbursement coordinator will make arrangements for you
to pay off your negative balance.
- Failure to pay the negative balance could
result in court action.
